The most beautiful, most happening beach in
Phuket is undoubtedly Patong Beach.
Patong Beach is a curving strip of golden sandy beach on the west coast of Phuket. It began to be discovered in the 1960's, when backpackers and hippies found it. Since then, tourism has arrived in Patong Beach in a big way, and today Patong Beach is the centre of Phuket's tourism industry. Despite that, the beach has managed to keep its beauty (if not its peace). You can laze in the sun under the shade of a beach parasol and watch all the beach activities happening around you.
Patong Beach is one of my favourite places in Phuket. It is so convenient. Everything I need is within walking distance. I can go to the best restaurants in Phuket, shop for souvenirs or visit one of the biggest department stores in Phuket, all within walking distance of Patong Beach.
