Phuket may be famous for its nightlife, for its beaches and shopping, but do you know that there is a beautiful waterfall there? I had the opportunity to visit this waterfall when I went to Phuket with Beautiful Planet holidays, in a group.
The name of this waterfall is Bangpae Waterfall. It is located somewhere between the airport and Phuket Town. We have to go through a country road to reach it. Our guide Mr Loo is familiar with the place. As this waterfall is not inside our usual itinerary, you need to inform him, and ask the Beautiful Planet staff to include it in your itinerary if you wish to visit it. It would be best if you get a group of friends to join you, then together you can have the whole van of like-minded people to go visit the waterfall.
The Bangpae Waterfall is very nice. It gushes down from the side of the hill to the stream below. The water was quite strong, as it was just past the rainy season. There were a number of local boys swimming in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. As I did not prepare any clothes, I did not go into the water (otherwise I would love to swim in the cool, refreshing water of the waterfall -- I must plan to come again!)
The water at Bangpae is crystal clear. It is so fresh, and there is hardly any trash to be seen. I am pleased that the Thais have been able to keep their natural places so clean.
