Alishan is the mountain in Chiayi County, Taiwan, that is today a major tourist destination. The place is a mountain resort. Visitors to Alishan go there by taking a hill train. The climate changes from subtropical to temperate as you reach the higher levels of Alishan National Scenic Area. The highest point is Da Ta Shan, which is 2,663 meters.
